Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician course is one of the highlights of the Rancho High School Pre-Medical Academy. To enroll in this program, students must be a senior in the Academy of Pre-Medicine, have earned a "C" or better in their junior-level medical coursework, and meet entry requirements. Students who wish to enroll in EMT must initiate the application process with their counselor.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Rancho High School's Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program is the pioneering program in the Clark County School District. This one‐year, senior-level course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to achieve the level of and certification for Emergency Medical Technician. The EMT course is blocked with the EMT Lab; therefore, students must have room in their schedule to accommodate both classes. 

Students completing this program and meeting all requirements are eligible to apply independently for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Exam. This course and the associated lab fulfill two of the elective credits required for high school graduation as well as credit for the Magnet Certificate.
